It started Friday night, according to downdetector.com, an application and website monitoring service.
Saturday morning it looked like the problem had been solved.
“We are studying reports indicating that some people currently have to log back in to access their Facebook accounts,” the company said in a statement. “We believe this was due to a change in configuration and we are working to get things back to normal as soon as possible.”
The massive session was quickly tracked with user memes as well as some conspiracy theories.
When users returned to the social giant, Senator Bernie Sanders was quick to make an appearance as people wondered what exactly had happened. Sanders ’memes continued to trend over the weekend and only seemed to grow in popularity due in part to the logout.
