Remember when that big ship got stuck? People were really looking forward to playing on the boat, and while a few small ones were released, it would obviously take a while for more substantial adaptations to hit the market.
Welcome a few months later, then, and we already have it WHATEVER, a PC game where you play as The Boat. ThatIt’s about drifting along winding courses and past obstacles, from rocks to, uh, giant monsters, doing your best not to hit anything and get stuck.
Do the things that are most relevant to the subject and differentiate them from other things adrift like Rally Art, is the weight of the boat. Because you’re driving a big boat and not a small car, everything is much slower and has a lot more momentum, so even if you take the issue out of the equation, it still seems like fun.
Here is the official description:
Remember that boat? Have you ever wondered how this is possible or how hard it is to pilot this thing down the channel? Well me too!
ANYTHING is my attempt to answer these questions and satisfy my curiosity.
You’ll cry and finally realize the amazing captain of each cargo ship.
BECAUSE IT IS VERY DIFFICULT TO DRIVE THAT! $ @%! $ 200,000 TON CARGO SHIP WITH ITS EXTREME INERTIA THROUGH THE CHANNEL.
Your mission is simple. Pass the ship through the canal to deliver all the precious cargoes on time.
The more progress, the more challenges will come. Wind gut, whirlpool, kaiju, UFO … that’s what you say. And finally, they will split the game name of your mount. WHATEVER!
G / O Media may receive a commission
In case the gif monsters it hadn’t left you behind, it’s not a simulation, and so you’ll have nine levels of difficulty and two heads-up encounters.
WHATEVER is currently on Early Access on Steam.
