What’s on TV on Tuesday: New Year’s Specials and “Els Degenera”

NEW YEAR’S EVE SPECIALS 20.00 on various networks. If you touch the new year from the comfort of the sofa, there is plenty of programming to entertain you. Ryan Seacrest hosts DICK CLARK’S PRIMETIME ROCKIN ‘EVE NEW YEAR’S EVE on ABC, opposite actress Lucy Hale. Ciara leads the festivities from Los Angeles, while Billy Porter reports from New Orleans. Paula Abdul, Green Day and Sheryl Crow are about to perform. On NBC, Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager recapture the most important moments of pop culture of the year A TOAST TO 2020!, famous guests such as Kristen Bell and Tony Hale are added. At 10 p.m., Carson Daly and Julianne Hough will take over as hosts NBC 2021 NEW YEAR’S EVE, with performances by Gwen Stefani, X Ambassadors and Ne-Yo. Keith Urban will join the broadcast from Nashville. Fox will broadcast NEW YEAR’S EVE WITH STEVE HARVEY, with acts by LL Cool J, the Lumineers and the Chainsmokers. (The special will be broken between 10pm and 11pm) Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen will be the hosts CNN’S NEW YEAR LIVE, and on PBS, the New York Philharmonic performs Stephen Sondheim ‘s most notable works LIVING IN THE CENTER OF LINCOLN.

THE DEGENERATED Play live Netflix. The special shows in this series look best after the kids go to bed. The second season features six 30-minute scenes of emerging comics that specialize in inappropriate, unrestricted humor. Comics include Donnell Rawlings, his titles include “Chappelle’s Show” and “The Wire,” and Nikki Glaser, who had a short-lived sex-themed theater show on Comedy Central and the first Netflix special , “Bangin,” debuted in October.

HOT TUBE TIME MACHINE (2010) Play live Amazon or Hulu; rent Google Play, iTunes, Vudu or YouTube. “The Hangover” meets “Back to the Future” in this time travel comedy with a score R. Adam (John Cusack), Nick (Craig Robinson) and Lou (Rob Corddry) are three middle-aged friends in a routine. They meet at a ski resort they used to frequent when they were younger, along with the awkward nephew of Adam Jacob (Clark Duke) and proceed to get drunk in the hotel’s hot tub. The next morning, they wake up in 1986 and a strange hot tub repairman (Chevy Chase) warns them not to change history. What happens is a fun journey that proves that men may have been looking back on life through pink glasses. The film leaves Amazon and Hulu on December 31st.
