The Cuban comedian Ulysses Toirac charge once again against the current reality of Cuba on its social networks questioning, in an ironic and hilarious way, the illusory and enthusiastic situation described by National Television News (NTV) Cuban, when the country faces one of the worst economic crises in its most recent history.
“I’m tired, friends, I’m sorry. ‘Call me a traitor or whatever makes you hungry! I’m leaving THIS COUNTRY. Where are the migration procedures to live on NTV?”, Wrote the comedian this Saturday on Facebook.
The counterpart of the perfect world described by NTV, with its giant economic development projects in the Mariel and the sacrifice of the cheerful and prosperous village, are commodity shortages, queues to buy food, repression of those who think differently and economic inflation.
So much so that it has distanced itself from what is described by NTV from what is happening on the streets of Cuba, that Ulysses Toirac has made many Cubans burst out laughing by suggesting that NTV is another country different from the island.
The publication of the host of the classic comedy show And what are you laughing at?, Has already generated more than 100 comments and more than 700 reactions on Facebook.
User José Miguel Pascual Martí recalled some verses from the historical song by Carlos Varela, Politics does not fit in the sugar bowl: “Many years ago Varela said it in a song ‘… everyone wants to live in the news, nothing is missing here and money is not needed …'”.
Some simply said, “This is the best country,” or invited Cubans to be “bread there,” referring to the NTV ironically.
Others went further and also commented with humor and internal jokes: “Move for Mariel! Here you will have cigars, new apartment with gardens, sidewalks and new streets, you will not miss the water, nor the paint for the house, you won’t miss the mince either, much less the culeros use bread when you need it, “said one user.
Earlier, Ulysses Toirac had joked about the lack of cigars on his social media, and just today, NTV aired an extensive report on government “successes” at Mariel’s port.
Always with laughter, Ulysses Toirac has been very critical of the political and economic situation facing Cubans, due to the mismanagement of country resources by their rulers and the crisis generated by COVID-19.
In December, the Cuban comedian wrote a hilarious letter to Santa Claus commenting on the reality of the country.
“I almost prefer not to ask you, because as you come from the NORTH Pole, I can look for a tremendous fuck and be classified as a mercenary. But I’m going to take risks because that’s why it’s Christmas: to take risks … To ask you to see what you can solve, “Ulysses Toirac wrote in the midst of the repression unleashed by the Cuban State Security against the San Isidro strikers.
