Meanwhile, Illinois announced Friday that it is sending “Rapid Response Vaccination Equipment” to five counties where epidemiologists “have determined that doses need to be administered quickly to mitigate growing trends,” IDPH said. These teams will administer single-shot Johnson & Johnson vaccines to residents, in addition to what counties already have assigned.
These counties are: Carroll, Ogle, Boone, Lee and Whiteside. You can find details on the doses and how to make an appointment here.

Residents can also monitor vaccination events or mass vaccination sites statewide.
Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker received his vaccine against COVID-19 Wednesday at the Illinois state fairgrounds, where he said he was shot at Johnson & Johnson.
Earlier this month, Aurora held a one-day mass vaccination clinic in partnership with Walgreens, where participants were given the Johnson & Johnson vaccine and Des Plaines launched a mass vaccination site that initially administered the single vaccine.
According to Pritzker, doses of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine are expected to rise sharply in the coming days.
“We expect to see a significant number, millions of doses of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine begin very early in the next few days,” the governor said during an unrelated press conference on Friday. “And we expect Johnson & Johnson to increase steadily, just as we continue to see an increase in Pfizer and Modern.”
