Where Ohio State is in the final S&P 2020 college football rankings

By all accounts and measures, the state of Ohio had a very successful year. Yes, the measuring stick is to win a Big Ten Championship (check), make the College Football Playoff (check) and win a national championship (doh), but seeing as the Buckeyes weren’t even supposed to play, so we will all grab it.

It could have been an even special year if Ohio State hadn’t had an absolute noise in the national championship game in Miami against Alabama. The Bucks were abbreviated, but even with a full number of players, it was very unlikely that OSU would win one of the best college football teams I’ve ever seen play in person.

That said, the latest S&P rankings have come out and we don’t have to tell you who the number 1 is, which belongs to the Crimson Tide by a wide margin. Still, things were much closer. So where did Ohio State end up in classifying a team’s strength and predictive measure to move forward? Well, we’re glad you asked.
