Winter-like conditions in Boston led to the postponement of Friday’s White Sox-Red Sox game, which set up a split double game on Sunday at Fenway Park.
Nick Pivetta, who was due to start the opening of the series on Friday in Boston, will push back its start until Saturday.
The Red Sox have not announced any starting pitchers for Sunday’s first game, which will begin at its regular time of 1:10 pm ET. Martín Pérez will start the second game of the double game, which is scheduled to start at 17:10
Sunday’s double game will feature a pair of seven-game regular games, while both clubs will be able to add an additional player for both games of the double game.
The four-game series will conclude Monday with the annual Patriots Day game, with the first scheduled release at 11:10 p.m.
Tickets for Friday night’s game will be good for Sunday’s second game. Fenway Park’s doors are expected to open 45 minutes before Sunday’s second game.
The Red Sox, who saw their nine-win streak broken Thursday with a loss by the Twins, return home after a 6-1 road trip. After four games against the White Sox, Boston will host the Blue Jays for two games and the Mariners for four.
