A sadistic squirrel is carrying out a bloody assault on a Queens neighborhood, leaving some injured scared to take to the streets.
“The squirrel didn’t care, he just wanted something, he wanted blood,” Regine Park resident Micheline Frederick, 56, told The Post on Wednesday. “For a few days later I would come out with a shovel, just in case, looking around me.”
The squirrel survivor also told ABC 7 that she has good reason to be shaken by the gnawing rodent: “The next thing I know is a game of MMA cages and I’m losing. Basically, he runs me by the leg and I say, “OK squirrel, hello, what are you doing?”
The thick-tailed beast “either bit me or scratched my neck,” Frederick said of the invasion that left his hands bloodied and wounded Dec. 21.
Since he had at least eight bites and the pink finger was “quite chewed,” doctors at an urgent care center nearby sent Frederick to the emergency room to make angry shots.
He then warned his neighbor, Licia Wang, of the approaching threat.
His message, however, was not enough: despite being on the lookout, Wang was also brutalized by the animal.
“I tried to shake it, but I can’t, you know, because squirrels have claws and cling to their winter jackets. There’s no way to do that, ”Wang told ABC 7 of his recent encounter with the fluffy madman, which may be the same one that Frederick attacked.
At least three other people have reported recent encounters with blood-thirsty vermin near 65th Drive, near Fitchett Street. It is unclear if all the incidents were committed by the same terror or if there is a group of squirrels at work, but either way, residents now live in fear of being attacked.
