ORLANDO, Florida – The Winn-Dixie supermarket will begin distributing the coronavirus vaccine for free throughout Florida starting next week.
The parent company Southeast Grocers says it has received 8,100 Modern vaccines, which it will distribute under the Federal Retail Pharmacy Program, in collaboration with the CDC, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and the Florida Department of Health.
Vaccines will be distributed free of charge at certain Winn-Dixie, Fresco y Mas and Harveys supermarkets in the state from Thursday 11 February.
Vaccines will initially be given to health care workers, residents, and long-term care center staff and adults age 65 and older, according to Florida guidelines.
A list of Winn-Dixie locations is not yet available, but a website is created where customers can learn more and finally schedule an online appointment once the locations are available.
This information is available on the Winn-Dixie website.
