The Falcons had a great scene leaving Los Angeles on Sunday, but confirmed the offense had not taken place. Matt Ryan’s two late play interruptions proved to be costly against the Chargers, and the team lost the last-second field goal.
Here are the winners and losers of Atlanta from the 14th week.
Winner: Calvin Ridley
Before the start of the season, Calvin Ridley announced his goal to cross the 1,000-yard mark in 2020. The goal was finally realized as Ridley went over 100 yards for the sixth time this season.
Loser: Matt Ryan
Although Beaten surpassed Manning in passing yards in a player’s first 13 seasons, Matt Ryan was one of the worst games of his life. His two late interruptions blew the air out of the Falcons’ boat. The team will have to weigh its options as Ryan moves forward, but his contract will make it harder to do that.
This has not been the case for the last 13 seasons, but crime is now an issue for the Falcons.

Loser: Todd Curley
It’s safe to say that pushing Todd Curley back would not be part of the Falcons ’long-term plans. Kurley believed he would “cause damage” to the stadium he had helped build, but instead went only 19 yards in six carries. It is clear that Edo Smith is actually running behind the team number one. Smith went 42 yards in 11 carries.
Winner: A.J. Terrell
Terrell worked on shading the Chargers top receiver Keenan Allen, and kept him only 52 yards. Despite Allen’s nine receptions, the Falcons’ lead helped the Yards stop several chances after the Docker catch. Terrell finished the day with a professional high of 13 tags.
Winner: Foy Olugun
Olugun was a force for defense. He finished the day with a total of 10 tackles and a fourth-quarter sack to force the Los Angeles ball. Having the Falcons following that doesn’t make any points, but Foy did what he had to do to give the team a chance to win. Failed to execute the crime, it is in Matt Ryan.
Winner: Russell Cage
With Julio Jones out of the game, it is important that Russell Cage progress and be Ryan’s second co – receiver. Cage had the best game of the game as he lined up in the QB for a play and gave a 39-yard strike to Calvin Ridley for a touchdown. His five receptions put him at 82 yards a day, the highest since he went over 100 yards in the 1st week.
With the Falcons officially out of the playoff controversy, the team should allow Jones to sit out the rest of the season and show off the likes of Cage and Olomite Zacchaeus.
