Wisconsin starting quarterback Leo Chenal will miss the first two games for the 12 badgers, including Saturday’s first game against No. 19 Penn State, after testing positive for COVID-19, he said on social media.
“For all my friends and family, I have tested positive for Covid and will miss the next 2 games,” Chenal posted on Instagram. “That aside, I’m excited to see how the boys kill him today.”
In addition to losing Saturday’s game against the Nittany Lions, Chenal, who started seven games last season, will miss next week’s game against central Michigan.
Chenal had 40 tackles and three sacks at the helm of the team in 2020, earning an honorable mention in the All-Big Ten.
Wisconsin also said cornerback Deron Harrell and winger Aaron Witt were not available for Saturday’s game against Penn State. No reason was given for his absences.
