With the new president, the Bank of Economic Development of Puerto Rico

The Board of Directors of the Bank of Economic Development of Puerto Rico (BDE) has ratified today, Saturday, the appointment of the Governor of Puerto Rico, Pedro Pierluisi- of the recognized manufacturer and financier, Luis Alemany as its president.

Alemany has diverse professional experience and is the first time a manufacturer has been appointed to the BDE executive chair. He holds a bachelor’s degree in finance with honors from the University of Puerto Rico, a master’s degree in industrial management from the Inter-American University of Puerto Rico and a degree in Entrepreneurship and Business from BabsonCollege. In addition, he has more than 20 years of experience in operational management, manufacturing, administration and finance in companies such as American Tools, Toshiba, Baxter Healthcare, 3M Caribbean and Pepsi, where he worked as General Manager and Director of Finance and Operations.

In 2019, the entrepreneur, became the President and Founder of the company SJT Manufacturing, a company focused on the manufacture and distribution of precision metal parts, exporting to global multinationals.

Alemany also participates as director of the Board of Directors of the Puerto Rico Convention Center Authority District where he is part of decision-making and project development for the improvements of the Urban Bay, the Puerto Coliseum Rico and the Convention District.

The nine-member BDE Board of Directors is chaired by the Executive Director of the Financial Advisory and Tax Agency Authority, Lic. Omar Marrero.
