New York. R. Kelly paid $ 200,000 to settle a lawsuit filed by a woman who accused him of causing herpes two decades ago without telling him he had the disease, the woman testified Friday at trial on the accused R&B singer of sex trafficking.
The woman, who testified during the third week of the trial without using her real name, told a jury in New York she was 27 when she met Kelly by a mutual friend in 2001. When they went starting to have sex, she continued, she told him she was worried about sexually transmitted diseases, including AIDS.
When she asked him to wear protection, “he just said no,” declared.
This is the second time this week that jury members have heard witnesses alleging that Kelly infected a sexual partner with herpes as part of a case accusing her of leading a sexually exploited criminal enterprise. women, girls and even boys during a 30-year musical race propelled by their hit “I Believe I Can Fly”.
Kelly, 54, has denied the allegations. His lawyers have portrayed his accusers as “groupies” who lie about their relationship with him.
