José Amarti Miranda Franco was sentenced to spend the next 28 years in prison for the death of a man and the attempted murder of a woman.
According to the Public Prosecutor’s Office, the events took place on December 26, 2018, inside the house located adjacent to the Continental condominiums, at kilometer 10 and a half of the Trunk Road of the North, jurisdiction of Ciudad Delgado, department of San Salvador.

The information from the Public Prosecutor’s Office details that the owner of the house had given the sentence to the convict, but had already repeatedly asked him to leave. On the day of the assault and homicide, the victim takes her backpack and signals to her to leave, because she could no longer have it. Enraged Miranda Franco pulls out a knife and lunges at the woman.
Realizing the attack, the woman’s life partner tries to rescue her, but is stabbed by Miranda Franco, who sees his victims on the ground and escapes.
The woman, as she can, asks for help and they are both taken to the hospital, however, her partner dies two days later due to injuries.
The specialized sentencing court for a life free of violence sentenced Miranda Franco to 13 years in prison for the crime of simple homicide, to the detriment of the man; and 15 years in prison for aggravated attempted feminicide.
