ST. CLOUD: a woman from St. Cloud faces charges of assault after attacking several people with an ax.
The police department of St. Cloud says shortly before 11:30 a.m. Saturday, officers responded to a complaint from a woman trying to injure people with an ax at block 400 on 8th Avenue South.

Authorities say a 44-year-old man working on a ladder in his garden said the suspect tried to hit him with the ax, but he strayed from the path and she hit the ladder. Police say a 52-year-old woman riding a bicycle reported that the woman lifted the ax and ran toward her as she yelled, yelled and threatened to hit her.
When officers arrived, the suspect identified himself as 53 years old Shelley Goff, barricaded himself inside his house. Crisis negotiators and St. Cloud SWAT carried out a search warrant and arrested Goff around 1:40 p.m.
She was taken to Stearns County Jail and faces charges of second-degree felony assault. No one was injured in the incident.
