On March 25, 2020, Margaret Ann Circus was arrested by coughing and spitting about the products of a supermarket called ‘Gerrity’ s Supermarket ‘, in the state of Pennsylvania, United States.
This August 24, almost a year and a half later, the woman was sentenced to comply prison one to two years and eight years probation. In addition, he was ordered to pay a fine of $ 30,000 (just over 115 million Colombian pesos).

This conviction came after the grocery store had losses of about $ 35,000 (more than 135 million pesos) for the products it had to reject after the threat of covid-19 spread.
Joe Fasula, co-owner of the site, wrote on social media: “While there is little doubt that this woman was doing it as a very twisted joke, we will not take any risks with the health and well-being of our clients.”.
According to a statement from the Hannover Township Police Department, “police were called after Cirko entered the store making verbal threats that she was ill while coughing and spitting saliva into products, meats and merchandise”.
They also claim that the woman continued with the behavior even though she was asked to withdraw from the store. What’s more, he even tried to steal a pack of 12 beers.
