The recovery process was not easy: during the first six weeks he had 20 surgeries; there were several amputations; they even took skin from her scalp to graft in her hand. Then they put a prosthesis on him that he uses to this day. In all, Sarah spent three years in the hospital before resuming her life.

“I went back to the CEA, I worked, I graduated but I don’t think I came back the same, I was already a different person, I no longer had the same way to move forward in life. Now I understand why I was told I had to take the time to heal. Then I went to New York to study acting, then I took a 5 year break and studied Architecture. “
And just studying this career was that he realized that there is not much accessibility for people who lack one or more members. Now, in addition to continuing her work as an actress, Sarah wants to raise awareness about these kinds of circumstances, which can happen to anyone; that is why he explained to the world his condition.

He did so in the set of Wonder Woman 1984 where they treated her like one more of the cast and where they made her feel comfortable and safe.
“Wonder Woman was a big step on a personal level. This project gave me faith in the environment, an energy to follow. I shared my disability with the director (Patty Jenkins) and she supported me. They showed that in the set it is no problem to adjust things and I felt comfortable.But in these 10 years I lost jobs due to my disability.Not everyone supports you, the human being is sometimes very cruel.
“My prosthetic hand isn’t functional, it’s just aesthetic. I wear it like a glove. If I don’t share it in general, they don’t realize it, but if I have to open a door, a bottle or greet with my right hand I can’t “But in my last projects I did well; I need support from my stage friends, I always have to tell them, especially if there are physical things and we adapt,” the actress said.
