Lynda Carter played the original Wonder Woman on TV

Lynda Carter played the heroine during three seasons, from 1975 to 1979. The series began on ABC before moving to CBS for the past two seasons.

The actress recently recalled that her own daughter fell in love with Gadot’s version of the iconic Warner Bros. character in a virtual event DC Fandome in August.

“Mom, I finally understand. I finally understand why everyone idolizes you,” he said, recalling his conversation.

It is quite appropriate for the film to reveal that Carter was Asteria. In case you forgot, Diana (Gal Gadot) mentions Asteria earlier in the film to Steve. She tells him that Asteria was the best warrior of the Amazons.

“When humanity enslaved the Amazons, my mother set us free,” Diana told Steve. “But someone had to stay behind to contain the tide of men so the others could escape.” This is where Asteria came into play.
