Disney and Warnes Bros Pictures have the most special gifts this Christmas: the streaming premieres of the films ‘Soul’ and ‘Wonder Woman 1984’.

The two tapes, originally scheduled to be released in theaters during the summer of this year, will be released on digital platforms tomorrow to bring some joy to families on one of the most important festivities.

“We created the film for a big screen, but I think it will continue to reach people,” Soul director Pete Docter, winner of two Oscars for ‘Up’ (2009) and ‘ Inside Out ‘.

For her part, the director of ‘Wonder Woman 1984’, Patty Jenkins, confesses to AP that she is excited that audiences will finally see the film. He also says he hopes to bring some joy at the end of a challenging and devastating year.

“Honestly, it makes me cry the idea that I made a movie that one would see at Christmas (…) I just think it’s very special,” he says.

‘Wonder Woman 1984’, which is a sequel to DC Comics ’‘ Wonder Woman ’(2017), will feature for HBO Max the warrior played by Gal Gadot in the Regan era, the baggy pants and Duran Duran.

The film features two villains: the insecure scientist Barbara Minerva who becomes rival Cheetah, played by Kristen Wiig, and the ambitious businessman Maxwell Lord, played by Chilean-born actor Pedro Pascal. They both test Diana, who has also changed over time.

“We found a Diana very different from the wide-eyed one we met in the first one,” says Gal Gadot. “She’s very lonely.”

However, his character receives a spark of happiness when Steve Trevor (Chris Pine) reappears in his life almost 70 years after his death.

A film with a soul of its own

‘Soul’, which will go straight to Disney +, revolves around Joe, a not-so-successful jazz musician exhausted from teaching music to unmotivated students who, after an unfortunate accident, falls into the Great Origin, a place where each soul acquires its unique traits to form a personality before moving to Earth.

Here Joe’s soul will try to ‘resurrect’ to return to New York, though along the way he will encounter other extravagant, fearful, competitive souls and even a cynical antagonist who despises human and earthly life.

This new tape from Pixar Studios will delve into the why of our personality in a way very similar to what ‘Inside Out’ (2015) explored our emotions.
