Important note: The state of Michigan did not provide any updates to coronavirus data on Dec. 24-25 because of the holidays. The Saturday, December 26 update represents an average of 2,447 new COVID-19 cases registered in Michigan each day between December 23 and 26.
Of the 254 deaths recorded Saturday by COVID-19, officials say 188 were identified during a records review, meaning they did not occur between Dec. 23 and 26.
On Saturday, the state reported a total of 318,389 recoveries from the virus.
