Xbox x Nintendo announcement provoked by insiders

A new rumor suggests that Nintendo and Xbox will make an announcement later this year. The rumor was shared by Shpeshal Ed on Twitter, the co-founder of XboxEra.com. The poster pointed to a video from the April 9 Game Mess by Jeff Grubb. In the video, Grubb discusses a photo of Phil Spencer with many interesting items on the shelf in the background, including a Nintendo Switch. (this image can be viewed at ResetEra right here). In the video, Grubb states that “Phil’s entire shelf meant something coming in.” Readers should grab it with a grain of salt, but it will be interesting to see if the two companies are planning something.

Microsoft has shown a lot of support for Switch in recent years. Microsoft has released games like Ori and the blind forest i Minecraft on the Nintendo console, while characters like Banjo-Kazooie and Steve can be played Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. As a result of this relationship, there have been several rumors indicating that Xbox Game Pass could reach Switch. Microsoft has given a lot of assistance to the service and getting it to Switch would add many more potential subscribers.

There are many reasons why Game Pass would make sense for Microsoft on Switch, but it’s hard to say if Nintendo would see it as a benefit. It’s also worth noting that there are several games in Game Pass that might not be playable on Switch, so Microsoft would have to specially adapt a library in the same way it does for PCs. A new Nintendo Switch model could help remove that hurdle, but that’s also just a rumor, right now.

Of course, this may be something else. Fans expected more Microsoft characters to appear Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, such as Master Chief and Doom Slayer. Nintendo fans also have a great passion for Banjo-Kazooie; with reproducible characters in To break, perhaps Nintendo and Microsoft could collaborate on a new game. For now, fans will only have to temper their expectations.
