Yankees veteran announces retirement from Major Leagues

The New York Yankees are in a pretty tough time in this MLB season boot: They’re the team with the worst record in the American League, their opening pitch is not being effective, their offense is giving a lot to be desired and the bad defensive fundamentals have cost them quite a bit in recent games. One of the players who was doing the worst was veteran Jay Bruce, Who has made a drastic decision after just two weeks of campaigning.

Bruce announced in a press release that he is retiring from the Major Leagues for good after 14 seasons, making the decision according to Lindsey Adler of The Athletic after a long talk with Yankees manager Aaron Boone, whom he told her his reasons for making his decision to end his career.

In the Yankees, Bruce had plenty of trouble getting to the level, as he only batted for 118 with just 3 hits in 34 innings on the bat, with a quadrangular-three drive, being Luke Voit’s replacement until this one returns from his injury.

Bruce had a great career as he was three times nominated for the All-Star Game, twice Silver Bat, 319 home runs in total, 1455 unstoppable, 951 RBIs and 20 WARs in total.
