Zoom calls are starting to arrive on Google Nest Hub Max

The company today announced the launch of the Zoom support for the Google Nest Hub Max Smart Display as an initial preview for users in the US, UK, Canada and Australia.

Users of Google or Nest WiFi can see some improvements in video calling, Google announced. It updates devices to automatically detect and prioritize video call traffic for Google encounters and zoom in, which may help if your video calls are a little slow.

As the holidays approach, it’s time for this update, and more and more people are going to make video calls to friends and family. Zoom has become a very popular service this year as social telecommuting activities and strikes have forced people to celebrate remotely. Nest Hub Max zooms in after Facebook adds service to its portal devices in September, but before Amazon releases it to its Echo Show devices.

This type of smart display is popular with people who like the functionality of a smart speaker, but wants to do more than just allow devices to have audio – and that includes video calls. Facebook offers a range of portal devices with four sizes to choose from (8 inches to your TV), but you have to fight for a reputation that suits their privacy. The Nest Hub Max, 9 229, is priceless, but the blank makes it even more so, which is reflected in our review value.

Amazon’s Echo Show is also reviewing its good visuals, sound and Alexa support well, but there is still no support for zooming in, and it’s not clear when that will come.

Google also knows that these devices are great for keeping your culinary creations flexible.

If you choose to pick up a Google device, or you already have one, you can try the zoom feature by linking your Zoom and Google accounts. Once you’re done you can control the feature with your voice using commands like “Hey Google, join my next appointment” or “Hey Google, start zooming call”.

Hands-free commands are useful because these devices are popular in the kitchen, so you don’t have to get the dough on the scene to make your wonderful Christmas cookies slip.
