33-year-old woman accused of stealing gift packages for needy families in Detroit

DETROIT – A woman has been arrested on charges of stealing a package of gifts on the porch of a Detroit home.

On Friday, Dec. 11, a woman driving a Range Rover entered the driveway of Aisha Harris’ home on the west side of Detroit and stole a package from her porch. Harris says the package wasn’t for her, but included gifts for families who needed it and to help this holiday.

“One of those gifts was for a young man (a very expensive gift) that I sponsored and I’ve been waiting for a long time. He finally arrived and was stolen,” Harris said.

The homeowner’s new Ring bell captured the theft of the camera. The material was provided to police for further investigation.

Since then, Detroit police have arrested a 33-year-old woman believed to have stolen Harris’ package.

Images of the incident showed at least one other person in the vehicle with the detainee. As of December 20, no arrests or additional details of the incident were reported. The identity of the 33-year-old woman has not yet been released.
