Thousands of DIY enthusiasts across Australia are embracing a new trend to transform old glass bottles and jars into stunning elegant vases.
Carolina, from Perth, demonstrated the easy process in a TikTok video on Dec. 17, which has since been viewed more than 88,000 times.
The craft project is to paint the jars with acrylic paint and add jute string once it has dried to get a rustic look.
The end result is sure to fill any boring corner and become a decorative spot of the home.

In the video, Carolina first wiped the surface of a bottle of raisin sauce with a damp paper towel to remove stickers and barcodes.
With a brush he painted two layers in the jar for make sure the glass cannot be seen.
To make it look like the jar is made of ceramic, he mixed baking soda into a bowl of paint previously.
The abrasive texture of baking soda will create a rough surface in the jar instead of a smooth finish.
Those who paint on a budget may consider buying small sample paint pots from Bunnings to decorate various vases of different colors.

Any paint can be used as long as it is water based
Use as much bi-carb soda as needed to create the desired texture
Also paint the inside, outside and bottom of the vase
Make sure all the paint is dry before adding another coat of paint, otherwise it will come off
Add as many layers as you want; the more paint is added, the more authentic it will be
