More than 200 Puerto Rican soldiers left this morning to attend the inauguration of the president-elect of the United States, Joe Biden.
The soldiers belong to the 92nd Brigade and will be mobilized to be part of the more than 20,000 soldiers who will be in the federal capital. All soldiers were reportedly vaccinated against COVID-19 and tested for viruses.
“This type of mission is part of the support that the National Guard of Puerto Rico has offered to the presidential inauguration ceremonies in the federal capital for more than 30 years. Although we are extremely focused on the fight against COVID-19 in on the island, we also fulfilled our federal mission to support the honorable traditions of the Nation and the continuity of the democratic system that we all enjoy. We are proud to be a part of this historic event, “said the Assistant General of Puerto Rico, Major General José J. Reis.

Our soldiers always fill us with pride. for their commitment and dedication, my respects for them always, “said Puerto Rican Governor Pedro R. Pierluisi.
This comes on demand after clashes have erupted starring supporters of President Donald Trump, who has insisted the last November 3 election was fraudulent, although he has presented no concrete evidence.

Indeed, in the afternoon, the legislature approved the “impeachment” with 232 votes in favor and 197 against, with 10 Republican congressmen joining the majority.
