A pro-Trump nonprofit group, Women for America First, obtained a permit from the National Park Service that allowed them to host an event at the ellipse near the White House. However, the AP reports that more than half a dozen people listed as event staff members had previously worked for the Trump campaign a few weeks earlier.
Others “In situ” staff members also had close ties to the White House, the media reported.
Trump’s re-election campaign in a statement to the AP said he “did not organize, operate or fund the event” and denied that any member of the campaign had been involved in the organization and operation of the rally.
The campaign told the AP that if there were former employees or contractors involved in the rally “they didn’t do it in the direction of the Trump campaign.”

According to the AP, a Trump campaign director, Megan Powers, and at least three campaign aides were appointed to leave. A LinkedIn account of Powers indicated that he had worked for the Trump campaign as recently as this month.
None of the employees listed on the permit spoke to the AP and, according to reports, many closed their accounts on social media.
Trump and his allies have suffered a major stir after the Capitol riot. A week after the riot, Trump was indicted by the House, becoming the first U.S. president to be indicted twice.
