“It’s hard because kids died. It’s also hard because one of our agents was here an hour before this call. He was called here by a concerned out-of-state relative who wanted us to check the welfare of the alleged victim. in this one at home, ”Ernster said.
“Our officer came here, talked to her at the door and told her while he was there, and she looked at him and said, ‘I’m fine, tell them I’m fine.'”
Police visited the house again before Saturday to do a welfare check after receiving a call from someone worried that the woman might be in danger and “possibly involved in a domestic-type situation,” Ernster added.
Officials are investigating who was at the scene at the time of the shooting, as well as the circumstances of the triple homicide.
The Ramsey County coroner will work to identify the victims and determine their cause of death, police said.
Axtell added that “investigators and agents will continue to work 24 hours a day until they find the person responsible.”
