The complaint was filed in a Fairfax County court and will be available to the public after Young receives it.

“If a subpoena has been issued, it is outrageous that a rich and powerful person (a U.S. senator) can go to his magistrate to get a subpoena to harass a normal person,” Young said.
The protest came on Jan. 4, two days before Congress certified the 2020 Electoral College vote, which Josh Hawley had announced he would oppose.
However, the senator was still in Missouri, so only Erin Hawley and one of her children were in Virginia at the time of the protest.
He had called the demonstration on Twitter, saying the protesters threatened his family. However, the organizer was not charged with threats.
