A Puerto Rican man identified as Steven Omar Maldonado was arrested today by federal authorities at Orlando International Airport after being accused of participating in the Capitol uprising on January 6.
As reported by the Wesh network, Maldonado has been charged with two misdemeanors which are illegally entering a restricted building and violent entry or disorderly conduct.
The Puerto Rican allegedly admitted before a judge to be the person captured in a photo where he showed a man entering the Senate floor during the riots.
FBI agents met with Maldonado at Orlando airport just as he was about to board a plane en route to Puerto Rico with his girlfriend, his lawyer told the network, to visit his family and ” enjoy the beach “.
The judge ordered that Maldonado be released on $ 25,000 bail, handing over his gun, passport and no travel outside of Florida, except for court proceedings.
