(Reuters) – Microsoft Corp. said it had largely resolved the technical issue that delayed message delivery to its widely used Teams work messaging app on Wednesday.
The error, caused by a possible network problem, affected users in the Americas, the company said.
“We are overseeing the service to ensure complete restoration and we will take the necessary actions if the impact persists,” the software giant added.
Downdetector, an outage tracking website, showed there were more than 800 incidents of people reporting problems with computers.
Downdetector only tracks outages by collecting status reports from a number of sources, including errors submitted by the user to their platform. The interruption could have affected a larger number of users.
Collaborative applications such as Teams, Slack, and Zoom have played a key role in conducting remote work and online classes during the COVID-19 pandemic. The computers had about 115 million users in October last year.
