Google Maps is an incredibly useful tool that allows us to plan routes for long journeys, test our geographical knowledge and, in general, have curious places.
However, a TikTok user believes he saw people in the middle of “committing a crime” while recently browsing the site.
The user, who was called “Abandoned Content”, shared a video that appears to show a group in Poland stealing train tracks in broad daylight.
The video explains, “You won’t believe what I just found.
“I thought I’d seen it all.”
The user then approaches the map, showing a group of people carrying train tracks in a wheelbarrow across a train line.
The video continues: “But they literally steal train tracks.”
He has now been seen thousands of times, with people commenting on sharing his utter disbelief at what appears to be a blatant act of theft.
One user said, “They must have an internal connection to the railway company, usually these tracks are welded together.”

While another relied more on the group in the photo, he added, “Maybe they help replace him.”

But it’s not the first time Google Maps has come across something quite strange. Not far away.
The couple headed down a remote mountain road in western Taiwan, looking for a bit of a natural nook and probably thought the Google Maps car was the least worrying, but unfortunately they were in the wrong place at the wrong time.
The Street View vision was first shared on social media along with the text: “I took a look at Google to see if I could find any animals and unexpectedly came across this wonderful view.
“Google Maps is the greatest invention in history: it’s bigger than God. Big Brother is looking. You’re making babies and now we’re looking at you.”
They made it a little more sinister than necessary if you ask me, but hey.
