Tesla has officially awarded CEO Elon Musk the title of “Tesla Technoking,” Monday in a new regulatory filing.
Musk will maintain his position as CEO, Tesla said. Zach Kirkhorn, chief financial officer of Tesla, has also received a new title: “Master of Coin.”
In a statement filed Monday with the Securities and Exchange Commission, the auto company said, “As of March 15, 2021, the titles of Elon Musk and Zach Kirkhorn and Master of Coin, respectively.”
It is unclear what motivated the new titles. Last month, the car firm announced it had bought bitcoin worth $ 1.5 billion.
