A star of the hit Netflix series “Tiger King” suffered a stroke at an Oklahoma casino that he believes was the result of someone poisoning him, according to an impressive report Friday.
Jeff Lowe, 53, a former business partner of flamboyant zoo owner Joe Exotic, fell into an unresponsive state at WinStar World Casino at 3 a.m. on March 18 and had to be taken to a hospital. according to TMZ.
“I thought he was dying in my arms,” his wife, Lauren, told the entertainment news site.
Hours before the horrific incident, the couple was out to dinner in the town of Thackerville when a man claimed to know them, he said.
He remained around Lowe when a crowd of “Tiger King” fans surrounded him to take selfies, raising Lauren’s suspicions and making her believe he may have made her a drink, according to the medium.
Lowe was rushed to a hospital, where he underwent a series of tests and spent three days recovering, he said. He still has problems with some parts of his speech and movement.
Blood and urine tests turned negative for the abused drugs, but Lauren suspects the potential attacker would have used a less traceable substance.
Doctors have not determined the cause of the stroke and the couple has not reported the incident to police.
In January, a federal judge ordered Lowe, who took over the zoo that appears in popular docuseries, to give up his tiger cubs due to alleged animal abuse and neglect.
