A new Nintendo Switch Pro rumor has surfaced online, days after the Nintendo Switch Pro driver apparently leaked. Unfortunately, the rumor doesn’t overflow with the most prominent information, but it hints at the console’s release date and provides information on how it could handle old games. Rumors about a more up-to-date and powerful Nintendo Switch have been leaking for over a year, but recently rumors and reports have begun to increase substantially, suggesting that we are approaching a revelation and release.
The latter is the path of one of the first sources to convey the word of the machine, or, more specifically, the NateDrake industry way. According to the leaker, the console is expected to be announced this year and right now, the plan is to launch it this year as well, however, a delay until 2022 is certainly a possibility at this time.
Unfortunately, the leaker does not provide any additional information on when the console will be launched, but it looks like it will be sometime during this holiday season, assuming it is not delayed next year.
In addition to hinting at the release date, the leaker also claims that the console’s new SoC should power older games in the form of resolution and fps. However, it appears that there may be exceptions to this rule depending on how the game is coded.
Finally, NateDrake’s comments on Nintendo Switch Pro’s rumored DLSS support, noting that they’ve only heard that this support will only include docked mode. However, the informant is not prepared to rule out portable DLSS, citing the lack of confirmation anyway.
Of course, all this, as in every bit, should be taken with a grain of salt. Here everything is not 100% unofficial, but is also subject to change. All of this could be completely accurate today, and then tomorrow, everything could be outdated and incorrect information.
As expected, Nintendo has not commented on any of this unofficial information or directly commented on any rumors, reports or leaks of Nintendo Switch Pro. That said, if Nintendo breaks this “no comment” silence pattern, we’ll be sure to update the story accordingly.
