U.S. Capitol police confirmed Friday evening that a second officer who was injured in Friday’s car attack in Washington, DC, is in stable condition and is not facing injuries that endanger the life.
“UPDATE: The other USCP officer who was hit by the car is in stable, non-threatening condition,” Capitol police announced in a tweet from the force’s official Twitter manager.

The update comes after the force announced that Capitol Police Officer William “Billy” Evans was killed when a man reportedly identified as Noah Green threw a car at a Capitol barrier.
Green was later killed by police when he got out of the car and allegedly threw himself at officers who responded with a knife.
The injured agent has not yet been identified.
The car and knife attack occurred Friday less than three months after the Jan. 6 riot on Capitol Hill.
Capitol police officer Brian Sicknick died from his injuries after coming into contact with the pro-Trump crowd, while two other police officers at the scene later died by suicide.
Lawmakers throughout the day said they kept Capitol police officers in their thoughts.
