(Reuters) – U.S. President Joe Biden’s administration arrested a Baltimore manufacturing plant on Saturday that ruined 15 million doses of Johnson & Johnson’s COVID-19 vaccine to make another vaccine developed by AstraZeneca , the New York Times reported Saturday.
The administration has put Johnson & Johnson at the helm of the problematic manufacturing plant, according to the report.
The extraordinary move by the United States Health and Human Services will make the BioSolutions Emergent facility exclusively dedicated to manufacturing Johnson & Johnson single-dose vaccine, and is intended to prevent future confusion, according to the report, which cites two senior federal health officials.
Johnson & Johnson said it “took full responsibility,” confirming the changes, the report added.
