Apparently Jason Isbell has done it all. Beyond his Grammy-winning musical career, he unwittingly played a role in creating the meme 30-50 wild pigs, and wrote a song for A star is born this is arguably Bradley Cooper’s best solo track. And now he can add another big milestone to his extensive resume: acting in a Martin Scorsese film. Per Osage News, Isbell will debut as an actor in the Scorsese adaptation Killers of the flower moon, alongside Robert De Niro, Leonardo DiCaprio and Jesse Plemons.

In accordance with Osage News, “The story details the systematic killings of members of the Osage tribe in the 1920s and narrates the birth of the Federal Bureau of Investigation that investigated and uncovered the plot to kill Osages for its oil wealth.” The story centers around criminal author William “Bill” Hale, who will be played by De Niro. Isbell will play Bill Smith, who was Reta Smith’s husband, “Mollie Burkhart’s younger sister who is tragically murdered when Bill Hale’s partners blow up her house with dynamite.”

He will also be accompanied by his country’s star Sturgill Simpson, who will play Henry Grammer, “a famous rodeo and bootlegger champion and good friend of Hale.” Simpson had previously appeared in Queen & Slim i The hunt, so this is not his first film reel. Twilight Saga: EclipseWilliam Belleau i The IrishLouis Cancelmi are also new additions to the cast.
