A Brooklyn man was arrested Wednesday for attacking Asian people in two different attacks in New York, police said.
Joseph Russo, 27, was hit by hate crimes for both incidents: he allegedly pushed an elderly man to the ground Monday morning and assaulted a 32-year-old woman last month, according to the NYPD.
In the most recent incident, Russo is accused of randomly pushing a 77-year-old man while looking at vegetables for sale in front of Sheepshead Bay’s J&R NY supermarket.
Surveillance footage showed the maniac ripping a bouquet of flowers from an outdoor store and throwing it down the sidewalk before observing his victim.
Two weeks earlier, on March 22, the heinous drag tore the hair of a woman walking down the road from Kings to Homecrest, in another unprovoked daytime attack.
The video released by police allegedly showed Russo blatantly dragging his victim by the hair a few feet before letting her go.
He then hit a wall with his hand and walked away.
The victims refused medical attention in both attacks. The woman suffered pain in her head and neck and the man was left with bruises on his left arm.
Russo faces charges of assault as a hate crime and harassment as a hate crime in each of the incidents, police said.
