Lung expert Dr. Martin Tobin stated that the last moments of George Floyd’s life can be seen in the viewer’s video of the May 25, 2020 incident.
While reviewing the video in front of the jurors, Tobin said, “At first you can see he’s conscious. You can see a slight flicker. And then he disappears.”
“So one second is alive and one second is no more,” the pulmonologist said.
“You can see his eyes, he’s conscious and then you see he’s not. That’s when life comes out of his body,” Tobin said.
Floyd, he said, struggled and tried to breathe while officers held him.
“You can see how the hip moves to try to shake the right side of the body to try to get air. You can see it pushing back into the street to get air in. And there are hip movements. You can miss, but you have to use your entire inner spine to try to get air into the right side of your body.Note that the left side is not functional so you have manipulated it and pushed it into the street so that it is constantly going up the right side of the body. , can be seen right there trying to get some air into the right side of his chest. He makes repeated struggling movements. He moves his hips again because he uses his spine to try to get them in. – These muscles to move air to the side And he tries again to use his right arm and is unable to because of the chain, the small chain that connects it to his left side.He is trying to have pushed down his right arm on the street to try to help him , but cannot f er-b for the shackle chain, ”Tobin said.
The expert said the restrictions on Floyd continued even after he stopped breathing.
“No, the restrictions continued after that: you have the cessation of breathing efforts. When you last breathe, your knee stays in your neck for 3:27 after you breathe the last time. Your knee stays. Then there’s no there is dust, the knee is held in the neck for another 2:44 after the officers have been found, there is no dust, the knee is held in the neck another 2:44, ”Tobin said.
