Frontier, a new low-cost airline, has been taking off in El Salvador since Thursday

The new Frontier airline is launching operations this week in El Salvador and its first flights will start on Thursday 15 April.

According to company information on its website, flights for this week are scheduled for Thursday, April 15 and Sunday, April 18; next week flights will depart on April 22 and 25 and then on the 29th. Departures in May will also be on Thursdays and Sundays.

The Vice President of Airport Customer Service Frontier Airlines, Randy Ruggieri, had announced the start of commercial operations at El Salvador International Airport, as of April 13, 2021.

And the Autonomous Port Executive Commission (Cep) also confirmed today on its social media that “Salvadorans will be able to fly on the greenest airline in the United States.”

According to Cep, Frontier “is characterized by being environmentally friendly, for its ecological actions such as: footprint reduction; consumption of less fuel, among others.”

He also reported that Frontier is a LOW-COST (low cost) airline with 94 Airbus A320 aircraft, with a capacity of 186 seats; it moves around 25 million passengers in the 111 destinations in which it operates.

It also has 400 flight routes to the US, Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Mexico, Canada and from this week to El Salvador.

Cep indicated at the time that the airline will operate in the country with a frequency of 4 flights a week, on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays. According to the flight departure schedule on the Frontier website, departures are scheduled for Thursday and Sunday for this month and next, but in June, July and August flights will depart on Tuesdays and Saturdays; it is from September that the flights will be 4 per week: Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday.

How much is a flight to Miami?

Frontier’s initial service proposal is for its aircraft to travel from El Salvador to Miami, Florida, and vice versa.

The information on the website states that, for example, a ticket to travel on the route from San Salvador to Miami may cost a person $ 89 one way, but if it is round trip the cost would be of $ 132 the ticket.

And if, for example, you travel to Atlanta on Thursday from El Salvador airport, the cost of the ticket would be $306 only of going; while if your flight leaves on Sunday at the same destination it would be for $ 376, one way.

But if the person travels from Orlando (Florida) to El Salvador the ticket could cost $ 47 (one way) and from Miami to El Salvador the cost is a little less: $32 (solo ida).
