Growing up, Corinne Foxx was mortified by her famous father: Jamie Foxx.
For years, she and her Oscar-winning father had given family and friends stories of how she regularly embarrassed her eldest daughter, and even frightened her boyfriends while wearing “such tight pants.” that they were “too young for him.”
Now, they’ve taken these distressing tales and turned them into the new Netflix series aptly titled, “Dad Stop Embarassinging !,” in which the 53-year-old “Soul” star plays a single father with a strong will of his teenage daughter with him.
When asked on a scale of one to ten how embarrassingly embarrassing “Ray” superstar Corinne, 27, told The Post, her Pops ended when she was 15 years old.
“When you look at these stories now you can laugh, they’re funny,” he explained. “When you’re in that moment and it happens to you and you’re a teenager and everything feels like the end of the world … It seemed to me that the worst thing that could happen was for me to show up at my football game in a tight-fitting jacket. ‘Wow, why does he do that ?! Nothing can be worse than that!’
Corinne, whose mother is Jamie’s ex-girlfriend, Connie Kline, said she now has a very close relationship with her father, but things weren’t always so rosy.
“My dad was very superior, very charismatic,” he said. “I was more reserved and calm, so we spent those fun moments of stress or he embarrassed me.”
“Now, I’m at the age where I can appreciate all of her quirks and be on top and I definitely have a new perspective on all of her trappings,” the former Miss Golden Globes continued. “We are incredibly close and I think we have always had this relationship between yin and yang, where he was really outdated and I was more reserved and there he spent a lot of conflicts during my adolescence. But now I think we can appreciate these qualities in each other and use them creatively to our advantage. “
Corinne, who says she reached a deal with Netflix, basically launching her teenage diaries full of anxiety, began as a producer on the sitcom, which also stars her father’s former co-star, David Alan. Grier, and was promoted to executive producer in the middle of filming.
“The first couple of weeks I felt like a fish out of water and struggling to do it all,” he said. “I was like,‘ What is my job description? and they said to them, “You only do everything!” I think it was a big learning curve. I think it was a lot to be a woman and young and find your voice in the room, talk and hold on to weapons in certain problems. They were things I had to build my confidence on. Not to say with anyone that it was hard work, it was just my own journey. ”

“I talk a lot about destigmatizing mental health, especially in the black community,” he said. “There’s a lot of stigma in asking for help and I feel like when I can talk about my journey with my own anxiety, more people will feel comfortable looking for help.”
Corinne also revealed that “she’s been in therapy since I was 14 and I have a lot of skills to deal with, so right now she’s in a better place. I’m concerned about everything that’s normal, but mostly living in today’s world, where “The news seems to be getting worse. Reducing the news and mediating has helped me a lot.”
