The price of Bitcoin (BTC) exceeds $ 50,000 and reaches a maximum of more than three months

Bitcoin reached $ 50,000 on Sunday to reach a high of more than three months as the cryptocurrency continues to rebound.

The digital currency rose above that level around 22:40 ET on Sunday, according to CoinDesk data.

Bitcoin hit an all-time high of more than $ 64,000 in April, but sold strongly in June and July, even falling below $ 30,000. One of the main reasons was the renewed regulatory control of the Chinese authorities, which has forced the closure of bitcoin mining operations and relocation.

But since mid-July, bitcoin has risen steadily.

In recent days, two key announcements have been positive for the cryptocurrency space. Last week, Coinbase said it would buy $ 500 million in cryptocurrencies on its balance sheet and allocate 10% of the profits to a portfolio of cryptocurrencies.

On Monday, PayPal said it would launch its service to allow people to buy, hold and sell digital currencies in the UK

Meanwhile, other digital currencies were also higher. Ether was trading at about 2% at $ 3,302.59.
