Like the The low season of the NBA is starting and we are approaching training camps and the preseason, some teams have yet to complete their rosters for the upcoming 2021-22 campaign.

The Brooklyn Nets could be a team that hasn’t finished making off-season deals, as they try to bolster their depth table toward the training camp in September. In accordance with Brian Lewis del New York Post, the Nets are interested in two players from the Cleveland Cavaliers roster.

Both Kevin Love and Isaiah Hartenstein are on Nets ’Christmas wish list this year. With Love, interest would be in the buying market if he and the Cavs came to an agreement. Love is still hired two more years in Cleveland, so the acquisition may be harder for Brooklyn to make.

He The Cavs were believed to be working on a purchase of Love’s contract, but the team quickly denied those claims. ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski also reported that Love has no interest in a Cavs purchase offer. So it’s obvious that if this deal is made, the Nets will need a little more effort to get it.

This Nets template could use another big stretch on the front court that can not only score, but also bounce. While Love’s total rebound has declined in recent years, it still does he averages 11 rebounds per game during his career. The Nets will take it in a heartbeat. Brooklyn may have to move from DeAndre Jordan to release a place on the list if she plans to bring Love at some point. Jordan played less and less as he finished the season last year but getting Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving to sign this move may be the biggest hurdle.

The other Cavs player Brooklyn has shown interest in is Isaiah Hartenstein. The 7-foot Cavs had a year-long run in both points and rebounds during the 2020-21 season. Hartenstein averaged 8.3 ppm and 6 rpg, which is more than double its previous season’s production. Hartenstein would add another large body to the front alongside Blake Griffin and Love if these movements occur. Adding Hartenstein would also help fill a gap left by the withdrawal of LaMarcus Aldridge last season due to health issues.

If the Nets know how to get the two Cavs players away, it will definitely add much-needed depth to the roster. This also adds another fascinating element to that Christmas day showdown against the Los Angeles Lakers, as Love played alongside Irving and Lebron James in Cleveland, winning a championship in 2016.
