AstraZeneca requires U.S. employees to receive COVID-19 vaccines

August 30 (Reuters) – British pharmacist AstraZeneca Plc (AZN.L) joined a growing list of companies on Monday demanding that US employees be vaccinated against COVID-19 before returning to their offices .

The company said the mandate will also apply to employees of Alexion, the U.S. pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca acquired in July.

“We will provide accommodation to those who cannot be vaccinated due to medical, religious or other restrictions,” a company spokesman said in an emailed statement.

Vaccine manufacturers COVID-19 Modern Inc. (MRNA.O) and Pfizer Inc. (PFE.N) have also made similar moves in the vaccination requirement for U.S. employees. Read more
