Iconic 70’s rock band Kiss postponed a number of tour dates after announcing the bassist Gene Simmons tested positive for COVID. The news comes just as the band’s lead singer, Paul Stanley, is recovering from the virus. So instead of rolling rock ‘n’ all night and partying every day, Simmons, the band and their touring team will spend the next 10 days in their forties at home.

The band said in a statement:

Kiss will postpone his next four tour dates. Although Paul Stanley recently tweeted that he has recovered from COVID, Gene Simmons has now tested positive and is experiencing mild symptoms. The band and crew will remain at home and be isolated for the next 10 days and doctors have indicated that the tour should be able to resume on September 9 at the FivePoint Amphitheater in Irvine, California. All previously purchased tickets will be awarded for the new dates once announced.

On Monday, Stanley reported his condition on Twitter. He wrote: “My COVID symptoms were BETTER compared to many others and let me tell you … He punched me. It’s over now. ”

Just a few days before, the Simmons attacked Florida and Texas politicians for lax COVID protocols. “It’s amazing that people still believe: there are enough people who still think it’s a hoax and a scheme,” Simmons told radio station 95.5 KLOS. “And they prefer to listen to the politicians of a certain political party instead of the doctors and the CDC. It’s shit nuts. It’s crazy.”

“The idea of someone saying” is my body and my choice “is so stupid,” he said. “It’s not your choice, it’s not your body when you come to a red light in the car. You don’t have a right to go through it just because you feel like it and “don’t tell me what to do”. And here’s why: because the rest of the world turns green and stops red. Just because you feel it’s your right doesn’t give you the right. ”

“Should there be a mandate, which means a law, that should be vaccinated? Yes, there should be. ”

Despite the farewell tours over the decades (the first was in 2000), the band has continued to play in stadiums around the world. His latest tour, curiously titled “The Final Tour Ever: End of the Road,” will run through October. WI look forward to Gene, Paul and whoever is playing Peter and Ace these days coming back here.
