The famous rap of Donkey Kong 64 is really bad for Lanky Kong

Donkey Kong 64 is a classic and beloved platform game that includes a weird rap song and too many collectibles. Although these days, not all those annoying collectibles are fondly remembered, the strange rap song that was found at the beginning of DK64 is a fan favorite. Sure it’s terrible, but in a charming way. However, as noted in a recent video by Joel Haver, “DK Rap” is strangely evil for a crew member: Lanky Kong.

The latest animated short from YouTuber and filmmaker Joel Haver reminded me of “DK Rap” attacks on Lanky Kong. The video, animated in a similar way to other Haver classics, shows us how Lanky Kong reacted the first time he saw the classic rap song. (Spoilers: not going very well!)

I’ve heard “DK Rap” many times over the years, but I’ve never connected the dots to this video. For a song that is mostly positive, it’s random shit and Lanky Kong. Sure, he does brag about his ability to stretch his arms, but only after saying that he has no style or grace and that he also has a funny face. While the lyrics aren’t incredibly clever, they’re still painful.

Also, because I guess you’re like me, here’s the original rap song with all its 90s glory. You don’t have to go to Google or search YouTube. I will save you time. Here you are:

If you liked this short “DK Rap” video from joel have, I recommend you check out some of his other animated shorts. His role shorts are amazing. But perhaps what I like most is his video showing what happens after some random thugs Unexplored-how the action game does the impossible and kills the main character.

In the meantime, I hope you enjoy Lanky Kong today. You … oh wait, I’m reading yours DK Wiki page and it turns out that you basically no longer appear in games and no one really cares.

Well, I’m sorry Lanky Kong. Do you at least have long arms?
