These types of sneakers have been around for months, but over the last few days Nike has finally come out and made them official: over the next few weeks we’re not getting a pair of Dunk Highs, but two pairs. Gundam.
I say tribute and I don’t have an official license because, as Nike has been known to do for a long time Star Wars a Doraemon), you do not need to pay for a brand name if you can border on it enough to make it obvious without violating copyright laws. Damn, this isn’t the first time Nike has done that Gundam, as we will mention the company and the series together will still do so Make a lot of people think of the classic Air Max 98 color.
There are two pairs of these Dunks, each based on them a lot largely to the RX-0 Unicorn. They have a Unicorn logo on the base, with mechanical style details on the tip box and a large swoosh that has the same touches as the “fins” of the Unicorn. These swoosh marks are also fastened with velcro, so they can be ripped and / or reassigned.
The white pair is simply called “White / Yellow”, while the darker ones are called “Banshee”. Both will be out later this month. Below you can find some of the official Nike photos, which will allow you to better see some of the details of Not-Actually-Gundam.

This is one of my all-time favorite sneakers, the Presto Mid Utility (best known lately for its acronyms collabs), dressed in a color that is officially known as “Carbon Green / Black-Ghost-Pollen”, but which has already and predictably been labeled as “Boba Fett”.
The official Animal Crossing sneakers look very cozy
So Puma has had the Nintendo license for a while and where his first Mario the shoes were a failure, theirs the second attempts were an improvement. The next ones however, with a No animals topic, they are easily the best yet.
