In recognition of the fact that someone you have to give the internet your weekly deposit of material with little participation to work it all out, Rolling stone has decided to redo his list of the “500 Best Songs of All Time”. The updated version has arrived today and even without opening it, we are sure that you believe it is completely wrong and that everyone involved in doing so should be fired.
Starting with Kanye West’s “Stronger,” a location that will force someone to post on Twitter completely smoking indignation, the list goes on to include tracks like Miles Davis’ “So What” at 492, “1999” Prince at 339, Neil Young’s “Heart Of Gold” at 259, “Bad Guy” by Billie Eilish at 178, Grandmaster Flash and The Furious Five, “The Message” at 59, and so on.
The real meat meant to face the waters online is, however, the 10 best songs of all time. This part of the list goes by “Hey Ya!” From Outkast and “Dreams” by Fleetwood Mac at 10 and 9, respectively, and then through “Get Ur Freak On” by Missy Elliot, “Strawberry Fields Forever” by The Beatles, “What’s Going On” by Marvin Gaye , “Smells Like Teen Spirit by Nirvana,” Bob Dylan “Like A Rolling Stone,” Sam Cooke “A Change Is Gonna Come” and “Fight The Power” by Public Enemy. The final entry – the best undisputed song ever recorded – is the “Respect” by Aretha Franklin.
The comments section is off to a good start, and readers are letting the publication know that their subjective effort to highlight 500 culturally worthwhile songs is “perhaps the most out-of-contact list published by Rolling stone. someone else sums up all the responses that respond to a complaint with “Not enough boomer rock or too much?”
Expect this speech to continue at least the rest of the day before disappearing forever into the digital ether. If you would like to participate in the action earlier, please see the whole list here.
