Apple has had some unfortunate missteps of the iPhone over the years3D touch and the Debacle U2 they’re just a few that come to mind, though MagSafe is being configured to be one of the most useful updates the smartphone has seen in a while. Apple’s new charging technology made some pretty fantastic third party accessories, I like New Anker magnetic portable charger, which is so simple and convenient that it should really be included on every iPhone.
MagSafe may have come up with a way to do this improve wireless charging, ensuring that an iPhone and a charging pad are always perfectly aligned for optimal power transfer, but even Apple saw its potential as a better way to attach accessories to your smartphone, including wallets and cases magnetic.
Bloomberg even reported that anonymous sources claimed that Apple was working on a magnetic upgrade to your smart battery case, but not yetwhere to be seen. Now Anker has hit Apple with its new 5C PowerCore Magnetic wireless charger and as long as you don’t mind sacrificing your pocketcapacity of your iPhone 12, is the perfect solution for battery anxiety.

Anker’s PowerCore Magnetic 5K isn’t the first portable wireless charger to hit the market. I checked several already, including a of Satechi which can wirelessly charge an iPhone and an Apple Watch at the same time. The lack of cables is convenient, but portable wireless chargers are difficult to use on the go, given the precise need to align the charging coils for charging to take place. In addition, they are all kinds of meatysince Anker’s new solution is much smaller.
However, the fact that Anker’s PowerCore Magnetic 5K is the smallest portable wireless charger we’ve tested so far doesn’t mean it’s small. It actually adds a lot of rubbish to the trunk of the iPhone 12 while it’s plugged in, so don’t expect to slip them effortlessly into your pocket while magnetically hugged.
At one end of the PowerCore Magnetic 5K you will find a power button—the charger will not start transferring power automatically when connected to an iPhone. You will see it too a breathing blue LED that indicates when a device is charging and a series of white LEDs that indicate the remaining battery level. There’s also a USB-C port that is used to charge the PowerCore Magnetic 5K itself (can’t be charged wirelessly) and is used to charge other devices via a wired connection.
You can also wirelessly charge iPhones and non-MagSafe devices using the PowerCore Magnetic 5K, so Anker has included an illustration at the bottom that shows exactly where the induction coil is for proper alignment.
That said, during testing it has been found that officially certified MagSafe charging accessories exceed 15W wireless power transfer, unofficial accessory from Anker (you won’t find the term MagSafe mentioned anywhere on the Anker website) only in pounds 5W of power, that is, it is much slower. So if you are not banging on the back of an iPhone 12 model, it’s probably best to charge other devices with a USB-C cable.
Another thing I discovered when testing the MagSafe accessories is that the magnetic connection on the back of the iPhones 12 (I’m using an iPhone 12 Pro) it’s not that strong. It’s strong enough to stay aligned on a load bearing, but I’m less confident it’s strong enough to prevent heavier accessories from falling when carrying both. For a stronger connection, I recommend pairing Anker’s PowerCore Magnetic 5K with a MagSafe compatible case like Moment’s Thin case for iPhone 12 or Nomad’s MagSafe resistant foil cover, for greater tranquility.
If you’re not an iPhone 12 user, you can probably skip the PowerCore Magnetic 5K. Anker tea cheaper compact portable chargers which have much more capacity. If you use one of Apple’s latest and greatest iPhones, for $ 40, the PowerCore Magnetic 5K is a simple accessory. Even if Apple launches a finer MagSafe charging solution than it offers Faster loading times and a slimmer design will certainly be considerably more expensive than Anker is now available.
